HomeRush Slam in Spoof Superbowl Commercial
In the controversial Dodge Charger Superbowl commercial, "Man's Last Stand", morose looking men are shown as a male voice over lists things a man must endure so that they can drive what they want. A spoof commercial has been made by women, "Woman's Last Stand", where the tables are turned. Of course, RUSH gets slammed; afterall, there are no female RUSH fans, right? - Thanks to John Tice for the headsup!

I don't know if it was much of a 'slam'. I thought it was kind of funny, because we all air drum to Rush!
ReplyDeleteOf course there are female Rush fans. I'm one of them. I have seen them three times in concert and they kick ass. I grew up listening to them thanks to my dad. So yes I asure you that there are female rush fans. They rock and its sucks that they got slammed. But the fact that they were in I Love You Man rocked.
ReplyDeleteMy sister is a classically trained pianist and loves Rush. That Rush fans are all guys is simply just a minor stereotype about Rush fans and you really shouldn't get so bent out of shape about it.
ReplyDeleteThey left out the punchline in the satire. We put up with a, b, and c therefore we are entitled to d; i.e. the "last stand". Of course the idea that all men are in to big gas guzzling cars is so stupid it kind of defies satire.
ReplyDeleteDodge are junk and would never own one.....My last stand is seeing RUSH at every venue within 2 hours drive when they tour, no matter what the cost!
ReplyDeleteMy 14 year daughter (Jonis Brothers fan) was with me in the car I had Different Stages playing, the rest of the night she kept signing "Show Me Don't Tell Me" Hilarious!

ReplyDeleteI've seen both commercials and understand that both have validity however meager it is. All the same, the slam at Rush makes me partial to the man's version. I mean, why bring Rush into this?! Enjoying their music isn't something to complain about.
